Why give to the Budd Scholarship Fund?
The Budd Scholars have strong character, show academic promise, and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. They would not be able to attend school without the financial support we provide.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all. It has exacerbated an already challenging situation for our scholars.
Schools in Kenya were closed when the first case was discovered in March 2020, and students were sent home and were not able to continue their studies. All Budd Scholars have returned to in-person learning as of January 2021.
The current financial need is larger than in past years because many of our students’ families have lost their sources of income. Your donation will go to fund:
- Full cost of school fees (about $500 per student per year)
- Transportation
- School materials
- Face masks
- Hand sanitizer
