In Memoriam
The Budd Scholarship remembers Michael McCarthy, who died in April of 2022. He was a longtime friend of the Budd Scholarship, serving first as its treasurer and later as a board member. He visited Kenya in 2005, where he saw the transformative impact of the scholarship on students’ lives. A lover of bluegrass music, he played multiple instruments and served on several service and arts organization boards. We are deeply grateful for his years of service.
