Break the cycle of poverty with education

In 2024, thanks to your generous help, The Budd Scholarship supported 55 students in 55 different secondary schools through full or partial scholarships (about USD 500 per student per year) helping them to break free from the cycle of poverty through quality education. The Budd Scholarship also provides transportation, school materials, and uniforms for students who cannot afford them.

Budd Scholars hail from every province in Kenya. Many are orphans and/or from poor, rural areas. Some, particularly girls, were discouraged from attending school. The Budd Scholars also share a common vision: education will break the cycle of poverty and ignorance, freeing them to pursue their dreams. They have courage, determination, and a commitment to furthering themselves through education. Despite their struggles, they remain hopeful and dream of becoming engineers, doctors, and pilots.
